“We are going to reign in this White House and stop the shameful Republicans dead in their tracks.” – Rep. Derek Tran
Buena Park, CA – In case you missed it, on Thursday, October 22, 2026, House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries headlined a 400+ person Take Back the House rally for Rep. Derek Tran’s reelection campaign in California’s 45th Congressional District.
Rep. Tran slammed President Trump’s disgraceful policies that are driving up costs, stripping affordable healthcare from millions, and handing out corrupt incentives to his billionaire donors. Leader Jeffries highlighted the importance of reelecting Rep. Tran and Democrats across the country to secure a Democratic House majority in November.
B-roll footage of the rally can be accessed HERE.
“Together, let’s continue to do all that’s necessary: show up, stand up, and speak up for the best version of this country,” said Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries. “And as we do that, I’m confident that together we will win the day, win the week, win the month, win the year, win the hearts and minds of the American people, reelect Congressman Derek Tran, and win back control of the United States House of Representatives.”
“We are going to reign in this White House and stop the shameful Republicans dead in their tracks,” said Rep. Derek Tran. “When we take back the House, Democrats will protect families by lowering costs and restoring affordable healthcare. We have the power, the passion, and the people to deliver the change that we all deserve.”
Rep. Tran and Leader Jeffries were also joined by Representatives George Whitesides (CA-27), Luz Rivas (CA-29), Mark Takano (CA-39), Robert Garcia (CA-42), Nanette Barragán (CA-44), and Mike Levin (CA-49). The rally was hosted by the Carpenters Local Union 714.
California’s 45th Congressional District is one of the most competitive House seats in the country and is identified as a 2026 Frontline race by the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. In 2024, Tran flipped the seat from red-to-blue by 653 votes (a 0.2% margin) in the second-closest and most expensive House race ($46 million spent) in the country.
