Congressman Derek Tran Delivers Critical Funding for Garden Grove Firefighters

Garden Grove, CA – Frontline candidate and Democratic nominee Derek Tran, who represents the most competitive House seat in Southern California, delivered $1 million in federal funding to support firefighters in Garden Grove.

This critical funding will provide necessary structural enhancements and additional equipment to firefighters at local Station 84, who were among the first to respond to the recent hazardous materials incident in Garden Grove. These funds will ensure Garden Grove firefighters continue to have the best resources available to protect the community.

“As an Army Veteran, I understand firsthand the sacrifice and dedication made by our public safety professionals to protect us,” said Congressman Tran. “While the heroic work of Station 84 firefighters were on full display during last month’s hazardous materials incident in Garden Grove, these men and women in uniform work hard every day to keep our community safe – often without recognition. I’m proud to secure this critical funding to ensure Station 84 has the resources it needs to continue serving the thousands of families in Garden Grove.”

Congressman Tran has championed critical investments in public safety across Orange and Los Angeles Counties. In May, Tran cosponsored bipartisan legislation to strengthen community-based crime prevention strategies nationwide. Tran’s reelection campaign is supported by over 360,000 combined professional firefighters represented by the International Association of Fire Fighters, Orange County Professional Firefighters Association, and the Fountain Valley Firefighters Association.
