VIDEO: MAGA Michelle Steel Ducks FOX 11 Debate

Garden Grove, CA — Yesterday, Derek Tran joined Elex Michaelson on FOX 11 to discuss his surging campaign, support for restoring reproductive rights, and endorsements from the Association of the Los Angeles Deputy Sheriffs (ALADS) and the International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF). The interview was originally proposed as a debate, but corrupt Michelle Steel failed to show up as her ties to former colleague and longtime political ally Orange County Supervisor Andrew Do, who was recently raided by the FBI, continue to be exposed.

This is the second debate the Congresswoman has refused to show up to in the last week as Steel’s favorability ratings drop due to her extreme efforts to ban abortion nationwide. Michelle Steel has refused to debate every congressional opponent she has ever faced.

Tran, a U.S. Army veteran, workers’ rights advocate, and small business owner, introduced himself at the top of the program, saying, “First and foremost, I’m a father of three. I have an amazing wife and we own a small pharmacy in Anaheim, brick and mortar. My parents were refugees who came here from Vietnam and growing up I always had this deep appreciation for this country. At 18, I enlisted in the military, Army Reserves… And then I went to law school — dedicated my practice to representing employees who were discriminated in the workplace. And now with this run, it’s my way of giving back to country and community.”

In response to a question about whether Tran, unlike Michelle Steel, supports restoring Roe v. Wade as the law of the land, Tran said, “100%. She signed up for Life at Conception, which is the national ban on abortion without any exception, whether it be rape, incest, or the life of the mother.”

With four national political forecasters– Cook Political Report, Inside Elections, FOX News, and Sabato’s Crystal Ball– recently moving this race in Tran’s favor, it's clear that Tran has the momentum and is well-positioned to flip this critical seat in November.

Army Veteran Derek Tran is a DCCC Red To Blue candidate running in California’s 45th Congressional District which encompasses portions of Orange and Los Angeles Counties in Southern California. A majority-minority district, the District has the second largest AAPI population (36.97%) of any Congressional District, and the largest Vietnamese community in the country.
