PRESS RELEASE

On the Anniversary of 9/11

Garden Grove Workers’ Rights Advocate, U.S. Army Veteran, City Commissioner, Small Business Owner, and CA-45 congressional candidate Derek Tran issued the following statement in remembrance of the 9/11 terrorist attacks:

“Today, we remember the thousands of innocent lives lost on 9/11 and honor the brave first responders who ran toward danger to save others. As an Army veteran, I reflect on the unity and strength we showed as a nation in the face of unimaginable tragedy. We owe it to the fallen, the survivors, and their families to uphold the values of service and sacrifice that define America. In Congress, I will fight to ensure that our veterans, service members, and their families receive the support, healthcare, and resources they deserve, and that our nation remains secure for future generations."

Derek Tran, a former U.S. Army service member and consumer rights attorney, has made veterans’ issues a cornerstone of his campaign. Tran emphasized his commitment to ensuring that veterans receive not only the healthcare and benefits they’ve earned, but also access to education and economic opportunities. In Congress, he will focus on protecting veterans’ rights, improving VA services, and delivering meaningful support to veterans’ families across California’s 45th District.

Derek Tran is a Workers’ Rights Advocate, U.S. Army Veteran, City Commissioner, Small Business Owner running to unseat MAGA Rep. Michelle Steel as one of the key seats needed to flip the House for Democrats in November. As POLITICO reported, Vice President Kamala Harris’s rise to the top of the Democratic Presidential ticket sparked a surge of young voter support for Derek Tran and a flood of new donors in the Orange County race. Tran's campaign is capitalizing on the burst in momentum and is now neck-and-neck with incumbent Michelle Steel in multiple polls.
