Garden Grove, CA – Today, Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries, the highest-ranking Democrat in the House, endorsed frontline candidate and Democratic nominee Derek Tran, who represents one of the most competitive House seats in the country.

“We must take back the House,” said Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries. “We’ve seen unprecedented corruption that the Trump Cartel has unleashed on the American people. When you have folks in high office who are so focused on enriching themselves, then that means they’re not focused on making life more affordable for the American people. We’re going to work as hard as we can to make sure that we reelect Congressman Derek Tran.”

California’s 45th Congressional District is one of the most competitive House seats in the country and is identified as a 2026 Frontline race by the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. In 2024, Tran flipped the seat from red-to-blue by 653 votes (a 0.2% margin) in the second-closest and most expensive House race ($46 million spent) in the country.
