Nation’s leading grassroots gun violence prevention group assigns Tran distinction in his high-stakes race to ensure legislative wins nationwide

Garden Grove, CA – Today, frontline candidate and Democratic nominee Derek Tran, who represents the most competitive House seat in Southern California, received the 2026 Moms Demand Action Gun Sense Candidate distinction.

This distinction, issued by the national grassroots gun violence prevention group Moms Demand Action, reflects Congressman Tran’s strong record advocating for gun violence prevention legislation nationwide.

“It is an honor to earn the 2026 Moms Demand Action Gun Sense Candidate distinction,” said Congressman Tran. “As an Army Veteran and a father of three kids, I have advocated for gun violence prevention measures to keep our communities safe. Congressman Tran has championed community and public safety across California’s 45th Congressional District, ensuring local cities have the necessary resources to keep communities safe. In May, Tran secured nearly $1 million for the City of Artesia to strengthen its emergency response coordination. This announcement came following Tran cosponsoring bipartisan legislation investing in community-based crime prevention strategies nationwide.
