Derek Tran Wins Decisive Victory In California’s 45th Congressional District

Garden Grove, CA – Tonight, U.S. Army Veteran, consumer rights attorney, small business owner, father and Frontline Representative Derek Tran released the following statement on his commanding victory in California’s 45th Congressional District primary election:

“I’m incredibly humbled by tonight’s results and to represent my community in Congress. Thank you to my family and friends, my team, and to all the amazing volunteers who have been knocking on their neighbors’ doors since January.

“I’m proud of this history-making campaign. This is one of the most diverse districts in the country. It is home to the largest Vietnamese diaspora in the world, and I am incredibly proud to not only be the first Vietnamese American to represent my community here, but to be a voice for every person in this district – regardless of their party, background, or income. I am guided by what is best for my community, my country, and my conscience.

“This moment isn’t about Democrats vs. Republicans. It’s about fighting for the notion that if you work hard and follow the rules, you should be able to get ahead no matter what neighborhood you come from. That is the American Dream; it’s the dream my parents moved to this country for. I'm working to preserve future generations’ belief in this country’s promise.

“I am confident we will prevail again in November, and I look forward to getting back to work.”
