Congressman Derek Tran Receives “A” Rating for Defending Democracy, Protecting Free and Fair Elections

Nation’s leading pro-democracy, voting rights, and anti-corruption organization awards Tran a perfect rating for his legislative record defending free and fair elections

Garden Grove, CA – With 22 days left until the 2026 Midterm Election, Frontline Member and Democratic nominee Derek Tran received an “A” rating, the top score possible, from Defend The Vote (DTV) Action Fund for protecting free and fair elections.

DTV’s perfect rating signals Congressman Tran’s strong legislative record defending democracy, standing up to Republican attempts to disenfranchise voters, and protecting free and fair elections nationwide.

“Our democracy is facing a five-alarm fire named Donald Trump,” said Congressman Tran. “In 22 days, millions of Americans will head to the ballot box and it is critical that their voices are heard – without suppression and consequences. I’m proud to be fighting for free and fair elections alongside Defend The Vote because I believe our country’s fundamental democratic principles are worth defending.”

“The only way we are going to have a government that serves the people is if we crack down on the corruption that is driving up costs by putting billionaire donors and corporate lobbyists ahead of everyone else,” said Brian Lemek, DTV Action Fund Executive Director. “Representative Tran’s record paints a clear picture that shows he is stepping up in this moment. It is more important than ever that our elected representatives side with regular people and reform this broken, corrupt system that is failing us all.”

Congressman Tran is a strong defender of voting rights amid the Trump Administration’s suppressive election tactics. Following the U.S. Supreme Court’s Louisiana v. Callais ruling weakening the Voting Rights Act, Tran slammed this clear decision to limit the voting power of minority Americans.
