Congressman Tran Releases Statement Following President Trump’s Shameful State of the Union Address

Garden Grove, CA – Today, frontline candidate Congressman Derek Tran (CA-45), who represents the most competitive House seat in Southern California, issued the following statement in response to President Trump’s shameful State of the Union address:

“Last night, I attended President Trump’s State of the Union address to hear from the president on his plan to lower increasing costs, protect healthcare, and bring safety to our communities.

“Instead, the American people got the classic Trump playbook. For nearly two hours, the president lied and divided our nation, shamefully ignoring the real challenges facing the American people.

“It is insulting that even after stripping healthcare from millions of Americans, sowing fear in our communities with chaotic ICE raids, and recklessly putting our troops in danger with the threat of another forever war, President Trump chose to go on a victory lap.

“The reality is that Donald Trump and Congressional Republicans don’t have a plan to strengthen the economy for hardworking Americans seeking to fulfill the promise of the American dream. This November, we can put an end to Trump’s billionaire-first policies by keeping CA-45 blue and delivering a Democratic House majority.”
