Derek Tran Raises Over $500,000 In CA-45
Garden Grove, CA — Today, Workers’ Rights Advocate, U.S. Army Veteran, City Commissioner, and Small Business Owner Derek Tran, who is running in California’s (Biden +6) 45th Congressional District against MAGA incumbent Michelle Steel, announced that his campaign has raised over $500,000 since entering the race in October.
“Grassroots donors are seeing that Derek rejects special interests and instead is an advocate for workers, veterans, and Southern California families. When they see that, they feel inspired and the results have been remarkable,” said Tran’s Campaign Manager Jacob Barr. “On the news that Michelle Steel is part of the most unproductive Congress in modern history, voters are rallying around Derek’s commitment of service and focus on kitchen table issues.”
This fundraising announcement comes on the heels of major endorsements from Rep. Zoe Lofgren, Chair of the California House Democratic Delegation, Rep. Mark Takano, Ranking Member of the House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs, and Rep. Judy Chu, Chair of the Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus, Rep. Seth Moulton & Serve America, VoteVets, Democrats Serve, New Politics, and Tomorrow’s Jobs. Derek also has seen incredible support from local elected officials and community leaders such as Aliso Viejo City Councilmember Tiffany Ackley, South Orange County Community College District Trustee Ryan Dack, Westminster Councilmember Carlos Manzo, Midway City Sanitary District Director Sergio Contreras, Santa Ana City Councilmembers Johnathan Ryan Hernandez & Benjamin Vazquez, and LA Community College District Trustee Sara Hernandez.
